Subtle elegance I just love this pen. I have used fountain pens for my whole life (i'm 73) I've got to tell you, obviously I have had a lot of them. This one is my absolute favorite. I have fancier ones, some very plain, some less elegant. This one is the perfect wool suit with a lace blouse and black comfortable shoes. It is comfortable, hardworking, goes everywhere, and works every time you pick it up. It has never leaked. It works for a long time on each refill. It is easy to change the refills. It comes with a lot of refills. It is even INEXPENSIVE. I have some very expensive ones that drive me crazy. Absolutely Beautiful, as they leave me with ink everywhere. I could not be happier with this pen. I would make great gifts too. A fountain pen is not usually a good gift as you could be handing out ink blasts that should only be gifted to an enemy. But not this one. It is a true treasure. I very highly recommend this one. Even if you have never had one, you will enjoy this one.

The best pen I’ve ever owned I’ve had very expensive pens in the past, but this is the absolute best. It doesn’t leak or drip, it always writes well, it’s heavy and balanced, and it looks fantastic. Great value.

Amazing fountain pen A1 I cant believe how much I loved this Dryden Fountain Pen! I write a lot with fountain pens and this is my favorite one. It’s heavy, the quality feels expensive even though it’s affordable, it writes smooth, the carts last longer than I expected. It comes with a spare tip and refillable carts. Im in amazed cant wait to get the red version. Very happy 11/10!

It’s Beautiful This is a beautiful pen. I’ve been using fountain pens since I was about 12, and I have quite the collection. I’m a Sheaffer fan and have many. I bought this pen and a Hongdian 1851 because I couldn’t decide which one I wanted. They are both about the same. They write beautifully in my journal. The Hongdian has a slightly wider body, so it is more comfortable for me to write with. This one is much prettier. I haven’t had issues with the fineness of the points or the ink in my journal, but I do notice that they both write wider and less smooth on plain notebook paper. I don’t use fountain pens on plain notebook paper most of the time, so it isn’t a problem.I’ve read the other reviews and I will say that a fountain pen isn’t like a regular pen. It requires some care and skill to use them and keep them functioning properly. If you don’t know what you’re doing, a $500 handcrafted writing instrument will make as big of a mess as a $5 Zebra. They were never intended to be an "every day carry" item as they do not travel well and tend to leak with excessive motion. They should never be stored with ink in them. If they not going to be used for 48 hours or longer, they should be emptied, flushed and dried so they don't become clogged with dried ink. Also, anything mass-produced is going to have issues with quality and consistency. It’s entirely possible that the writers of negative reviews got duds.

Best deal on the internet! I bought this pen in blue and loved it so much I bought it in silver. The silver pen was only about $10.50! You receive a replacement nib and converter as well as 24 ink cartridges. You can't even buy just the cartridges for $10. The ink flows like hot lava and it's an incredible deal for quality. The pen is a weighty metal design that feels good in the hand.

Disappointing, but improves with use This review is about the Dryden Precision Collection Fountain Pen. The pen is well made, looks very good but seems to only come with a fine/extra fine nib (not marked on the nib). This pen nib is scratchy and, unlike the Dryden Modern Classic, which I also own, dries up easily and requires work to get the ink flow again.. It sometimes requires too much pressure on the tip to get the flow right. It is especially difficult to get a good flow with the Dryden ink cartridge. In addition, the nib is not interchangeable with the nibs from the Modern Classic model and there does not appear to be a Dryden medium or broad nib for this model. While this is a relatively inexpensive fountain pen, it is not cheap and it is not as smooth as a $7.00 Platinum Preppy, although it looks better. Pass on this Dryden. UPDATE, with regular use the ink flow has improved and while not the smoothest writing pen, the scratchy feel does improve somewhat and is acceptable. It does look and feel like a much more expensive pen. One year later: the review on the Update is still holding BUT the "international" ink cartridges do not fit Kaweco Classic Sport and some other pens identified as using International Ink Cartridges, they do work in the Dryden and the Jinhao 51a pens.
